Painting and painting the wall of the house with a roller

A- Plastering the walls

Whether you are painting the interior or exterior walls of your home, putty is the key to a professional result. This method is for primary coloring of surfaces and raw wood and fresh blades. Unfortunately, most homeowners never putty, and for that reason they are not satisfied at the end of the job. Putty has 3 basic principles: First, it covers spots and holes, second, it is a primer for the original paint coating, most importantly, it improves adhesion and reduces the formation of bubbles, and extends the life of the original paint.
In order to increase the coverage of the original color, follow these professional tips: Mix the main ingredient of the putty with some of the main color and use it. (Make sure the putty and the base color are both latex or oil-based, never mix two contrasting solutions) This method can cover the original surface completely, especially when the base color is lighter than the previous color.

B- Use of tarpaulin

Use cheap and unused cloths to cover the floor to avoid spilling paint on the floor. At the end of the work, you should roll up these dyed fabrics and throw them away. Professional painters are reminded to always use canvas tarps over fabrics. Here are some of the benefits of tarps:
Tarpaulins are durable and resistant to tearing and punctures. They completely cover the surface so that you can walk on it and are less of an environmental hazard, as you will rarely, if ever, cover the floor with a tarp. The tarpaulin absorbs the paint, unlike the plastic cloths, which become slippery when paint is spilled on them. You are less likely to want to remove the color of your shoe soles from the tarp. Canvas cloths can easily cover the corners and openings, which is impossible with plastic cloths. In addition, tarps can be used countless times. If you’ve always felt bad about throwing away plastic cloth after it’s been dyed for one use, it’s a pain to reuse them because the dyes dry and flake off and spill all over the floor. Tarps are great for covering the surface against walls or for use outdoors on shrubs and flower beds and the base of walls. By using yarn, your clothes will no longer get wet with dye. But you can buy plastic cloths to protect from discoloration.

C- Paint with a paint roller

When painting a room, forget the ladder and use a telescopic roller for your painting roll. Rollers come in different sizes, but one of them is about 18 x 30 or 36, suitable for painting rooms with ceilings that are 2.70 meters or less. They are also available in large sizes above 5.40 meters for painting the roof of churches and high spaces.
To attach the roller, simply attach the head to the roller handle. Check to make sure the roller handle has a groove at the end; Most of them have. This shaft coming out of the roller can be locked in any part of the length and prevent the wrist from twisting.
When you buy one of these rollers, check it for smoothness, no hardened plastic spots or hard metal cores, and make sure the groove on the end is also metal. Plastic handles are very flexible and difficult to control, and the plastic remains and breaks under pressure over time. Check to make sure the shaft is locked in place and not collapsing under pressure.

D- Use of coloring grid

When the hardware is poorly designed, it becomes difficult to conclude that using a paint roller tray is useless. Here is a tip to guide the painting and it’s a little easy, it’s hard to keep only a small amount of paint to move from one spot to another and it’s difficult to clean. Plus you have to place the tray on the floor where someone or you can kick it while painting.
You may quit using the drawing tray and never regret it. Now, you can pour the paints into 5 grid buckets which are rectangular and have a rigid metal plate and a hook on the edge of the bucket. Half fill the bucket with paint and then hang the grid over the bucket. Now paint half of the roller and roll it on the grid so that the excess colors are removed and put back into the bucket. At the end of the day, return the net to the bucket and close the lid.

E- Record the color specifications

After painting the room, it is very important to keep the name of the brand and the color used so you can buy it again when painting. Here are a few techniques for memorizing color information, including writing them down in a notebook that can get lost and writing them on the side of a paint can that will eventually be thrown away. But there is a better way: Before putting the cover of the electrical outlets in the newly painted rooms, write the color information including (brand name, color, color number) on a piece of paper and place it behind the outlets. And they are there until you repaint and will be discovered at some point by yourself or the next owner of the house.
